Only one month left here in Germany, this means its time for another update. A couple of days ago, I found the Website about some Americans, who went to Sudan for a few days. They wrote articles about their stay there, I can only recommend reading them:

Out of Africa: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV
I also found two other links on their webpage , which could be interesting for you, if you want to know more about Sudan:

Thanks to our our FSJ tutor, Christine Stern, who is already down in Yei, I managed to get some firsthand informations - which I don't want to detain :) So, here we go:

Apparently we can get razorblades, shampoo and stuff like that down there - but we should of course bring something along for the first few weeks/months.
She also told me, that we can get clothes there, but quality will probley not be that overwhelming - especially underwear and towels, we need to import them from Germany, since towels tend to wear down quite fast there, and new ones are of pretty cheap quality.

I also asked her about the computers there, but she couldn't get much information about them. Hopefully she can get at least some informations about them before I leavt - after all I'll have to work with them, and maybe I'll even have to fix them.
Concerning electrical equipment: The generator runs for some hours, every morning and afternoon, but not regularly. Whenever they had power, she could also access the internet.

She doesn't know yet, how our hut(?) is gonna be like, more infos to come in august hopefully.

Now to the most important thing: They do have acoustic guitars! Yey! :)
